In order to secure a healthy nation and a healthy environment for our future generations, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has urged citizens to cooperate in maintaining our nation’s cleanliness and beauty.
In a video message that was uploaded on his verified Facebook page on Monday morning, he made this plea to his fellow citizens. “People from every class and profession in society are affected by the issue of a clean environment,” stated the prime minister.
The tendency for different kinds of trash, such as plastic bottles, chip packets, and used tissues, to be strewn all over the streets and market areas of Dhaka city, districts, upazilas, and rural areas has drastically increased in comparison to forty or thirty years ago.”
The Prime Minister emphasized the significance of properly disposing of waste, saying, “The majority of Bangladeshis travel by bus or walk. These people suffer greatly when they cross the street, when trash builds up in various locations, and when there is dirt. Garbage builds up and there is a strong odor in many areas. However, if we all become a little more conscious. Just as our environment will be wonderful, we will be able to maintain its beauty if we store our used waste in a designated location and dispose of it in a certain manner afterward.
Using her own cleanliness as an example, she said, “Think about it, if the room you live in, the house you live in, if there was such garbage spread all around, would you like to see it?” Not, of course. We would all dislike it. Green is my environment, and the poet’s writing is exquisite and luscious. So why are we unable to create a lovely environment?
“In the last few months, when I have been to different parts of the country, I have seen different types of garbage piled up inside the pond,” the prime minister stated, recalling her recent trip experiences in various regions of the nation. or various kinds of trash accumulated along the pond’s edges. However, in the past, individuals would gather in these locations to sit and converse with their family.
He said, ‘When we go, the cleaning workers may be cleaning it. But when we come out, it is not as clean as before. If it was clean, if you leave it clean, then whoever comes after you will also be able to enjoy that beautiful environment of cleanliness.’
Highlighting the importance of awareness, she further said, ‘If we all become aware from today and if we neatly arrange our garbage or used garbage in a specific place, then gradually we may be able to make our Bangladesh free of garbage. We will be able to build a beautiful environment.’
The Prime Minister emphasized that everyone worked together to build the nation, saying, “The country belongs to all of us.” We can accomplish something significant if we work together. Dear countrymen, I ask for your cooperation today.’
