State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humayun Kabir shared this information while speaking to journalists at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday (September 13).
The State Minister stated that the Prime Minister’s address would articulate Bangladesh’s vision for the future while highlighting the country’s role in promoting global peace, sustainable solutions, and conflict resolution. The speech may also cover issues such as poverty alleviation, fostering economic aspirations at the local level, various policy initiatives, and Bangladesh’s leadership in climate security and climate finance.
Humayun Kabir mentioned that the Prime Minister would hold meetings with world leaders on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session. However, the final list of leaders she will meet with may take some time to be confirmed, as such meetings in multilateral forums are often scheduled at the last minute.
The State Minister also announced that a high-level discussion on the Rohingya crisis would be organized on the sidelines. He emphasized that the Rohingya crisis is a “top priority” for Bangladesh and will remain a key focus during the 79th UN General Assembly session.
